We are looking for a Foster Program Assistant!

We are in dire need of help with our foster program. OCPBR is an all volunteer foster based organization. We need assistants to help us build and maintain our foster program. The description of this position is listed below:

Biggie Smalls is a dog currently happy in our foster care. You can help these dogs in need be one step closer to their happy ending!

Foster Program Assistant: This program will include processing new foster applications; providing support to current fosters and assisting the Foster Program Coordinator. The Foster Program Assistant Duties are outlined below.

Emails: Respond to new foster inquiries; send applications and provide additional information regarding OCPBR’s foster program.

Processes new foster home applications to present for approval by program managers and assists with subsequent home checks. Assists with matching a foster family with an appropriate dog and placing the new rescue dog into the foster home. Gives all materials, supplies and necessary information to new foster family.

Helps to provide foster families with any necessary food and supplies; Veterinary care; makes supply runs and drop off to fosters. Arranges transport to events or boarding kennel stays if necessary. Coordinates with foster families to send dogs to adoption events and potential adopters meetings.

Maintains constant email communication between new and current fosters; obtains any behavioral updates and medical needs. Actively searches for new foster homes using marketing practices and adding to social media platforms.

Works with head of Foster/Adoptions programs, Events Coordinator and Marketing managers.

This position requires email access; good organization and communication skills; ability to work with multiple departments; and a basic knowledge of dog behavior and health. Previous volunteer experience with a rescue strongly preferred.
